ABBA-Solutely Christmas Show

When the national touring production, “ABBA-Solutely Christmas Show”, came to perform at the Bridge View Center in Ottumwa on Thursday, December 8, the Ottumwa Area Community Children’s Chorus was invited to perform with them, on stage!! This was a uniquely exciting opportunity for our young singers to perform with a professional touring show, and a way for us to lend some local talent to this homage to the iconic Swedish pop group, ABBA. It was an excellent show and made for a memorable and fun-filled evening for all!

The show: 

ABBA-Solutely Christmas Show featured ABBA hits with a mix of Christmas music sprinkled in to celebrate the holidays. Seventeen children from the Ottumwa Area Community Chorus (OACC) ages 5-14, accompanied/performed with the tribute band on stage during the songs “I Have A Dream” and “Let it Snow.”

How the "ABBA" connection was made:

The producers of the ABBA-Solutely Christmas Show approached OACC Director, Dr. Christine Bergan, looking for a talented children’s choir which could hold their own with rock band in front of an audience. The show commonly reaches out to local children’s choirs, making donations to their music program in exchange for student participation.
