Collaborative Performances
We are proud to be a contributing force to the vibrant fine arts environment of southeast Iowa. Each year we partner with local and regional arts organizations to bring powerful music performances to audiences across Iowa. Additionally, we regularly partner with local events and social movements to provide live music entertainment. If you are interested in partnering with us to enhance your event, draw a larger crowd, or even raise awareness for your cause, please contact us directly. We hope to see you at one of our many collaborative performances this year!
Southeast Iowa Symphony Orchestra
OACC has been invited to participate in 1-2 collaborative performances per year since 2016 (except for 2020 due to COVID-19). The OACC Adult chorus members typically join other singers from southeast Iowa (e.g. IWU singers, Mt. Pleasant Chorale, Burlington Bel Canto Chorus, etc.) to form a “Southeast Iowa Symphony Chorus” in March or April of each year. These performances are often of moderately difficult choral masterpieces, often in another language (e.g. German). OACC also performs with other SE Iowa singers for SEISO’s annual “Holly Daze” concerts, held in December. In 2019, the OACC Children's chorus was invited (for the first time) to also participate and perform in the Holly Daze Concert. This was the first time that any children had been invited to perform with SEISO, and singing with a full symphony orchestra was an amazing and unique opportunity for these children!
Ottumwa Municipal Band
OACC has been invited to sing with the Ottumwa Municipal Band, under the direction of Brenda Hagedon, for the past 5 consecutive summers. Our performance typically centers around patriotic music and themes, and is a most enjoyable experience for one and all.
Viva Ottumwa! International Festival
OACC adult and children’s chorus (combined) has been invited for the second time this year (2022) to give a guest performance at an elaborate community wide celebration of the many cultures and ethic groups represented by the current residents of Ottumwa. We were previously invited to perform in this Festival in 2019 (it was not held in 2020 due to COVID).
American Gothic Performing Arts Festival
Members of the OACC adult chorus have been invited to collaborate with AGPAF for four recent consecutive years, from 2016-2020; in the productions of “The Music Man”, “Carousel”, “Ragtime”, and “The Tender Land” large scale productions.
